“One of my biggest wishes is to see ALL families experience birth, however it unfolds, as a positive, calm & joyous occasion.
I want families to bring their baby into the world with confidence & empowerment.

Calmbirth helped us so much with all of our very different births, & now I love helping others achieve that same positive experience

Rosie Weatherly

Rosie has over 10 years’ experience as a registered nurse and midwife in major hospitals through Australia. She lives on a broad acre cropping and livestock farm west of Ballarat with her husband & 3 children. Throughout her time as a midwife, she has had the privilege and honour of being present countless times new life enters the world. With three young children of her own, Rosie knows first-hand that every birth is different, and every birth is incredible.

It wasn’t until Rosie and her friends started having babies that she realised how prevalent the associated fear of childbirth was throughout the community. Feeling motived to bridge this knowledge gap by educating and empowering couples, Rosie established ‘Babies Ballarat’. Babies Ballarat aims to make knowledge accessible to couples within the Ballarat region by educating and preparing them to birth confidently. As a silver lining to the COVID-19 pandemic, Rosie is also now offering Calmbirth sessions via the interactive online platform, Zoom, making the course even more accessible to those families who may not have been able to access the course previously.

As a Calmbirth educator, Rosie provides couples with up to date, evidence-based and scientifically proven birth education. Calmbirth’s motto is ‘with knowledge comes confidence', a statement Rosie whole heartily agrees with. Calmbirth is not just about having a ‘perfect’ birth, but it is about acquiring education to create a birth that is perfect for you and your baby. Rosie is immensely passionate about ‘keeping things simple’ while allowing you as a couple or team, the ability to explore your way of doing birth through knowledge and education. Attendees at Rosie’s classes often make comments about her humour and warmth, her inclusiveness and ability to make everyone feel valued.

Calmbirth® is a highly acclaimed childbirth education program. The program runs over two-days and prepares couples mentally, emotionally and physically for the birth of their baby.

Calmbirth

Calmbirth®uses the mind- body connection to assist couples to replace the fear, stress and anxiety about giving birth with the knowledge and skills to birth their baby calmly, fearlessly, safely and confidently regardless of how their baby is born.

The Calmbirth® program is suitable for first time or subsequent births; for couples who’ve had a challenging birth experience and would like their next birth experience to be different; as well as for couples who know they’ll be having a caesarean.

Couples can use their knowledge and skills learnt in Calmbirth to meet any birthing journey they encounter with confidence.

You can expect education on the process of birth, breastfeeding, practical tips for increasing the woman’s pain threshold in labour, using the breath and meditation to remain calm and clear, even in unplanned situations, and so much more.

The Calmbirth® course provides the birth support person with practical and evidence based information to help them feel confident and capable to assist their partner throughout pregnancy, labour and the birth of their child.

The Calmbirth® program is built on a solid scientific foundation as it draws on research from neuroscience, midwifery, obstetrics and epigenetics; and uses the extensive understanding of the relaxation response and its influence on birth.
